Breast Health and Surgery

State-of-the-art screening and diagnostic digital mammography are available at Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center, where we use MammoPads® for greater comfort during mammography. Computer-Aided Detection further enhances your mammography study by marking areas of concern for Radiologists who then determine if there’s a need for additional imaging tests or biopsy.

Our commitment to breast health goes beyond screening studies to leading-edge follow-up, including digital stereotactic breast biopsies, which use only a needle to obtain breast-tissue samples. These outpatient procedures are performed right at the hospital.

If testing reveals that surgery is needed, and you and your surgeon decide it is the best option, it may be performed in one of the surgical suites in the Center for Women’s Health on the fifth floor, where you can also spend your recovery period.
